Argentina was a significant force in the surge of global Techno music during 2018. Artists such as Translate, Pulso, Joaquin Ruiz, Vladw, Kuf, Michel Lauriola may be at the periphery in terms of recognition and notoriety but that should detract from the unparalleled quality, diversity and frequency of high calibre releases from the aforementioned and record labels such as SRIE and Conceptico Hipnotico. Berlin may be the modern day capital of Techno due to the number of DJ's, Producers and Record Labels that have relocated to the vibrant German capital. One of the best merging labels that is doing a tremendous job in pushing new and relatively unknown talent, is the Holiday Addicts record label that is based in Buenos Aires. After the success of its 27th release (93 by BN) in Q3 of 2018, the much antedated 28th instalment was released on the 23rd January 2019. 'Untitled 28' is a brilliant 6 track EP comprising of artists including Igor Thomaz, John Barsik, Juan Trujillo, Le Martz, Miguama and Phraell The record caters for a diversity of audiences and incorporates a spectrum of tempo and moods ranging from minimal and dub influences soundscapes to hypnotic and heavy percussion and up-tempo tracks for the club circus's. Igor Thomaz kicks things off with a minimal and linear 'Visitant'. John Barsik injects depth and tranquillity with the wonderful minimal dub fused 'Gradient'. The sequenced bleeps and pitch bending warped grooves of 'Consecuences by' The featured track ' Clase Complace; by Juan Trujillo shifts the momentum and intensity of the EP. This is appropriately followed by the dark contortions and paranoid sequences of Le Martz's excellent 'Mitomania' Miguama falls into the upper echelon of rugged 4/4 linear floor bangers with sequenced tribalistic sounds running through the track.
